The Gorillas were frustrated by squandered opportunities in the loss to Shellharbour last weekend, going down 34-8 despite having a man advantage when Max Wolfson was sent off in the first half.
Languishing in seventh place on the ladder with a 5-5 record, Warilla now face the daunting prospect of ending the Superoos' 10-game unbeaten run.
"If you look at the completion rate, any other week you win by 50," Stapleton said after Sunday's loss.
"We weren't very smart, we went side-to-side. It's easy to defend, you're not asking anything.
"(Shellharbour having 12 men) rubs it in even more, we knew what we wanted to do and we didn't do it.
"The effort was good, just our execution and footy smarts (need to be better)."
