Illawarra Mountain Bike Alliance committee member David Wood organised the clean-up because he was sick of seeing the rubbish.
He and other riders go off the road along Harry Graham Drive and they regularly have to pass piles of rubbish to get to the mountain bike tracks.
"We had to ride through it to get to our tracks and I'd just had enough of it," Mr Wood said.
"All the mountain bike riders are just sick of seeing all the rubbish dumped and we just thought we'd do something about it."

Mr Wood said the illegal dumpers were often quite brazen and didn't try to hide what they were doing.
"All up and down Mt Keira Road you can see people throwing their waste out of their car," he said.
"We see people pulling up with stuff on the back of their ute and they just dump it in the bush."
