The tour bus that last night careered off Moss Vale Rd at Kangaroo Valley and down a ravine, killing the driver and injuring 28 others, was carrying members of a Polish organisation from Sydney.The Mercury believes those on board were carers on a two-day retreat.Mercury reporter Michelle Hoctor, at the scene, said she could only see the back of the bus, which was 30m down a steep, bushy ravine.

  • GALLERY: The scene of the accidentAmbulance officers last night treated 28 patients. Eleven were ‘‘walking wounded’’ and another 17 patients were being transported to hospital. In all, eight were in a serious condition with severe lacerations, fractures and spinal injuries.Three people were flown out with head and spinal injuries.An ambulance officer said the bus was in a very inaccessible area.The bus ran off the hill and veered to the left before stopping.Shoalhaven Police have established a hotline for people concerned they may have family or friends involved in the bus crash at Kangaroo Valley tonight.
