For so many past players, coaches and support staff, it's a moment to savour on Sunday afternoon at WIN Stadium.
It's rare in any player or fan's life, at any level, you can turn up to watch a game knowing the trophy will be lifted whatever the result.
So hopefully the crowd, the former players, the community in general turn up and enjoy such a special occasion. It's the first time the Wolves have won the premiers trophy, the most coveted of the round ball game, since 1988.
Finals can wait.
A date with Sydney FC in a friendly game on Wednesday week, normally considered the biggest occasion, as the Wolves have done in the FFA Cup before, can wait.
The trophy is the moment to savour, for everyone who is and has been part of the club. For all the years of struggle, there will be a couple of hours just to celebrate.
Of course, there is also opportunity, Lachlan Scott has been superb with his business and goalscoring for the Wolves, looking for a future in the A-League.
Thomas James has been a revelation and deserves his opportunity at the top Australian domestic level and a standout performance against Sydney FC may just be the perfect reminder of it.
Then finals beckon, but in the meantime, congratulations to everyone part of the Wolves' success.
