An elderly man has been charged with sexual touching over accusations he groped a fellow patient at an aged care facility in a northern Illawarra hospital.

Police will allege the incident between the two patients, aged 80 and 89, occurred on Monday and was reported at 5.30pm on Wednesday.
Wollongong Police District detectives went to the hospital and arrested an 80-year-old man.
He was taken to Wollongong Police Station where he was charged with sexually touch another person without consent.
An Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District spokeswoman said the organisation was assisting police with inquiries into an alleged incident.
"Hospital management notified police and family of the patients involved as soon as they became aware of the alleged incident," she said.
"Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District is unable to make further comment at this time while police investigations are ongoing."
The man was granted conditional bail.
He is due to appear before Wollongong Local Court on October 8.
The victim's next of kin has been spoken to regarding the alleged incident.
