EARLIER: About 230 Wollongong homes are still without power on Wednesday afternoon following a fallen tree branch on a power line.

Initially, there were about 1770 Endeavour Energy customers affected when strong winds caused a branch to come down at about 4.20pm in St John's Avenue, Mangerton.

Endeavour Energy crews were dispatched to remove the branch and were quickly able to restore power to most homes.

Power is expected to be back on for the remaining homes shortly.
