Probably more directed at boat owners but you may have heard that Level 2 water restrictions will be in place from December 10, as this is when Sydney Water estimates dam levels will drop to 45 per cent. Restrictions apply to everyone in Sydney, the Blue Mountains and the Illawarra and this includes all residents and businesses.

Restrictions include excessive use of water facilities at our various boat ramps and Water Board officers will be on constant patrol and will take a very dim view of those who abuse the restrictions. On the spot fines up to $550 can be issued, so be diligent. Visit sydneywater.com.au/restrictions to see how the changes affect you.

Have you ever wondered if you have caught the same fish before? This is a question many anglers often ask themselves, particularly those of us who practise catch and release fishing and fish the same areas on a regular basis.
DPI/Fisheries recently received info about a dusky flathead recapture that confirmed that sometimes you CAN catch the same fish twice.
A flattie originally tagged and released by Central Coast angler Dan Guilfoyle was recaptured by none other than ... Dan Guilfoyle. Dan originally tagged the 83cm lizard on July 17, while fishing in Lake Macquarie and after a couple of quick photos, the fish was tagged and released in excellent condition.
Fast forward 90 days to October 14, and Dan recaptured the fish in the same area where he originally tagged it and it was again released. If you're lucky enough to catch a tagged fish, report it at https://bit.ly/2O5AnOr.
