He may be green, but their Written Tycoon colt Bartley showed more than a glimpse of his immense potential with an exciting three-length win at Kembla Grange on Saturday.
Jumping as $1.16 favourite in his first start, Bartley led into the straight and speared out to the middle of the track, before jockey Mitchell Bell ensured he let down in the closing stages to cruise to the 1000m Maiden victory.
As a result, he's moved into Magic Millions contention, currently listed as a $26 chance for the Gold Coast race on January 11.
"He's still pretty new, as we've seen in the straight," Snowden racing manager Colum McCullagh said.
"But the further he went the better he got and when he straightened, he really lengthened out nicely like a nice horse. So fingers crossed."
Peter and Paul Snowden last tasted two-year-old success at the Magic Millions with Capitalist in 2016, who went on to win the Golden Slipper and placed in the Group 2 Roman Consul before heading to stud.
He finished with career earnings of more than $3.5 million.
McCullagh admitted the stable will look at another run in a bid to lock in a place in the Magic Millions field.
"Obviously he'll have to get his prizemoney up, he could have another run in between," McCullagh said.
"From what we've seen (on Saturday) he may need it, but look, he's a really nice horse going forward."
On Tuesday Bartley was 27th in the other of entry, with stablemate Sancy among the leading contenders.
Another Snowden hope Strike was withdrawn after a hairline hind leg fracture was discovered.
The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Farnan is the early favourite after beating off the challenge of Mark Newnham's Every Rose in the Wyong qualifier last week.
David Vandyke's Alligator Blood is a raging $2.50 favourite for the three-year-old classic after a dominant win at Listed level at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
