Motorists are urged to allow plenty of extra travel time when travelling on major highways.
Traffic is affected at:
- Bendalong: Bendalong Road between Princes Highway and Bendalong Mountain Road is closed due to a backburning operation. Locals may be allowed access at the discretion of crews on site.
- Wandandian: Wandean Road between the Princes Highway and Bollerang Road closed in both directions. Motorists could use the Hume, Monaro or Snowy Mountains highways as an alternative route and allow additional travel time.
- Nowra: Southbound motorists are facing five minute delays on the Princes Highway at Kalandar Street.
- Nowra Hill to Falls Creek: The Princes Highway is now open but a reduced speed limit is in place.
- Sussex Inlet: Sussex Inlet Road is open, however motorists are advised that there is no access to the Princes Highway southbound from Sussex Inlet Road.
- Jerrawangala and Conjola: The Princes Highway remains closed between Sussex Inlet Road and Martins Ridge Road due to a bushfire. Heavy traffic conditions. Expect significant delays. Motorists could use Hume, Monaro or Snowy Mountains highways as an alternative route and allow extra travel time.
- Braidwood to Nelligen: The Kings Highway between Narranghi Road and Reid Street remains closed due to a bushfire.
- Moruya to Braidwood: Araluen Road remains closed due to a bushfire.
- High range to Taralga: Wombeyan Caves Road between High Range Lane and Taralga Road is closed due to bushfire. Residents are permitted to access at the discretion of emergency services.
- Hill Top to Couridjah: Wilson Drive/West Parade between Stella Street and Bargo River Road is closed due to bushfire.
Earlier on Thursday, NSW Ambulance paramedics took a 40-year-old woman to hospital in a stable condition after she was injured in a crash at Bomaderry. She was suffering neck pain.
The motorist in the other vehicle was assessed by paramedics on scene and did not need to go to hospital for treatment.
All lanes of the Princes Highway reopened at Bomaderry around midday, with traffic flow returning to normal.
