The new franchise, which competes in the Netball NSW Premier League, launched the South Coast Male Youth Talent Program on Wednesday to help find future men's Netball NSW players.
The program will be run in partnership with the Kiama, Shoalhaven and Illawarra district associations and provides an opportunity for boys aged 14 to 18 years to receive guidance from quality coaches in a high performance netball environment.
Trials will be held on March 28 from 8.30am at the Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre. Successful applicants will be coached by a range of experienced men's netballers, including South Coast Blaze's open assistant coach Dennis Napara.
"Being a male netballer myself, this initiative holds significance on a personal level," Napara said.
"Its the first program of its kind at a franchise or club level in NSW to endorse investment in a pathway for male netball athletes."
