A number of events planned in and around the Illawarra in coming weeks have been cancelled or postponed amid concerns for the spread of coronavirus.

POSTPONED
Comedian Ross Noble has postponed his show at Anita's Theatre, Thirroul, which was due to take place on March 18.
The South Coast Writers Centre has cancelled a workshop in March 22 on making zines, which was due to take place on Sunday at Society City.
Red Hot Summer Tour organisers have advised that Saturday's sold-out event in Kiama has been postponed. Organisers cited severe weather conditions as the reason for the cancellation, and not coronavirus concerns.
Basketball Illawarra has just postponed its Association Day, where representative teams of all ages get together for team photos, a barbecue, and to watch the senior rep team play a league game.
The 24-hour Mega Swim to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis sufferers, organised by the Figtree Lions Club and to be held at the OUW pool from noon on Saturday, has been postponed, organisers said.
The Under the Southern Stars rock carnival, which features international rock acts Live, Bush and Stone Temple Pilots and was due to visit Wollongong on April 9, will be moved to early 2021.
The Wings Over Illawarra air show was scheduled to take place at Shellharbour Airport at Albion Park Rail on May 2-3. It has been postponed, with new dates yet to be confirmed.
CANCELLED
University of Wollongong has cancelled its Garden Party, which was to be held on March 21. Event organiser, UOW Pulse, regrets any inconvenience caused by this disappointing decision, but the safety of students, attendees and event staff comes first. Ticket holders will be notified and full refunds provided.
Sydney Royal Easter Show will not go ahead in 2020. Organisers said it was the first time the Sydney Royal Easter Show had been cancelled because of a public health emergency since the Spanish Flu pandemic in 1919.
Lifeline's Big Book Fair fundraiser, scheduled to take place this weekend at the Illawarra Sports Stadium, Berkeley has been cancelled. The event, which raises funds for Lifeline South Coast services in the Illawarra and South Coast, typically takes place twice a year.
Brigadoon Highlands Gathering at Bundanoon in the Southern Highlands, due to take place on April 4, has been cancelled. The next gathering will be on April 17, 2021
GOING AHEAD
The St George Illawarra Dragons game against the Wests Tigers on Sunday at WIN Stadium, Wollongong, will proceed as normal. However, the Dragons' Round 2 clash against the Penrith Panthers at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium will be played behind closed doors. Spectators will not be allowed to attend games until further notice beyond this weekend.
Merrigong Theatre events with under 500 people in attendance will likely go ahead, the company said.
"If an event you've booked is cancelled, you will be emailed or called as soon as possible," Merrigong posted on its website. "Please check your inbox regularly. This information will also be updated on the event page of our website."
Ticket holders can call the box office on (02) 4224 5999, which will be open at least 1.5 hours before all events, or check the website.

Thirroul Seaside & Arts Festival: The Austinmer Thirroul Lions Club and Festival Committee will decide over the weekend it the festival will proceed on April 3.
Wings Over Illawarra organisers are in the midst of discussing postponement options and will make an announcement soon.
