Guys have been targeting them with small metals in the 20g-40g range with good success and are having heaps of fun at the same time on their light gear.
Whiting are on the back flats around Berkeley, Lake Heights areas and surface lures have been very successful especially the sugarpens with assist hooks.
Bonito and mack tuna are hanging around the ledges, best bet is metal lures or the old faithful ganged pillies but remember to take care around the rocks and always keep an eye on the ocean.

NSW game fish tagging program is sometimes lucky enough to receive information about recaptures of tagged fish from remote communities throughout the South Pacific.
Recently, they were told a black marlin released by Newcastle Port Stephens GFC boat Waihora in early February 2018 by keen father-and-son team Rowan and Josh Nicks had been recaptured in a remote area known as the North Tokelau Trough, which is almost halfway between Tokelau and Kiritimati.
The fish was originally released off Port Stephens, NSW, and was estimated to be 70kg and was at liberty for 437 days before being recaptured by a US flagged purse seine vessel which was targeting tuna around drifting FADs on May 2, 2019.
The skipper of the vessel estimated the black marlin to be 110kg and it had travelled an estimated straight line distance of 2663 nautical miles during its time at liberty.
