Mr Haworth, of Haworth Guitars, has launched a new initiative to bring music lovers together online through music. He said it is no secret that learning an instrument has proven benefits to mental health and wellbeing such as reducing stress and depression, increasing blood flow to the brain, building resilience and increasing self-confidence. So is proving a way for anyone self isolating to take lessons.
Haworth Guitars is kickstarting to the "Keep Jammin" initiative by giving away a new Fender Stratocaster via its Instagram account @haworthguitars.
The Kiama born business with stores in Shellharbour and Wollongong is also offering free freight Australia-wide so new and experienced musicians can use their time at home to learn a new instrument or refine their skills on a preferred instrument. And Haworth Music School is offering online lessons to help.
"People always tell me they wished they'd learned an instrument when they were younger. Well now I can say 'Why not now?' We are putting out the challenge to everyone to take this opportunity to learn a new instrument and to current musicians to refine their skills".
Haworth Guitars is also sharing posts with the #keepjammin hashtag to promote musicians who are using this time to refine skills or begin playing music.
