The large gum tree at the front entrance of Wollongong Art Gallery felled by strong winds today can not be saved.

Wollongong City Council crews are on site to remove the tree that's in a dangerous position.
It appears there is significant structural damage to the tree, which means it's unable to be saved.
The crews will also investigate whether there is any damage to the Gallery building, and to make the area safe.
At this stage, it's believed there may be a small amount of damage to the fourth floor balcony railing.
