In an initiative completely organised by the school captains, a group of students in years 4 to 6 took candles or lights and lined a few streets of Windang from 6am, where they reflected on the service of veterans past and present.
The school captains then went to the Windang war memorial to lay a wreath on behalf of the school.
School principal Loreta Kocovska said she was amazed by the students who coordinated the morning but was not surprised by their efforts.
"The students ensured they adhered to social distancing and showed an incredible amount of respect," she said.
"I see the Anzac spirit of courage, mateship and sacrifice in the kids every day.
"They show courage in what they do in school, they look out for each other and they share or give up things for another child."
Ms Kocovska said the students were missing each other so it was nice for them to come together.
She said the school captains were looking forward to leading the school during assemblies, excursions and events last term, however they were postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
"The school captains took ownership of the morning, used their leadership skills and coordinated the students," she said. "I was astonished by their efforts."
Ms Kocovska said the school captains would learn to use the online tools ahead of an Anzac assembly that all 165 students and teachers would participate in next week.
