The Wollongong mother of two's love of everything vintage started before the masses cottoned on.
For the past 10 years Miss Hutchinson has not only dressed the part, she used to run Bulli vintage store My '50s Closet with her mother.
In recent years her Miss Pearl persona has been rocking her pinup style with other like minded people at the annual Rock n Vintage Roll Festival at Ryan's Hotel in Thirroul.
Over the last four years she has also enjoyed competing in pinup pageants.
With COVID-19 restrictions, the latest Pinups of Australia pageant was held online earlier this week.
Miss Pearl was "thrilled to pieces to win the Miss Vintage Vamp People's choice award".
"I'm absolutely thrilled and want to say a great big thank you to everyone who voted for me. I am honoured to be the people's pinup," she said.
Miss Pearl also thanked the team behind Pinups of Australia for running "such a great event".
This was appreciated by the organisers, who stated on her Facebook page "congratulations Miss Pearl Lee Shells, we just adore your style! love the mix of vintage clothing with rad tattoo! Keep it up!"
The 47-year-old said the pinup community in NSW was big and supportive.
"Actually all over Australia events, festivals and pinup competitions are held. It is quite big and quite popular for people who love the 1950s clothing and accessories and for people who love the music and the cars," Miss Pearl said.
"It is just a really supportive atmosphere, lots of people involved and everyone has a really great time.
"The good thing with the pageants is they are ideal for women of all ages."
