Luke from Leisure Coast Tackle at Corrimal happily reported on another great spring week and weekend just past that presented plenty of options for the fishing fraternity and boat crews.

Out wide there was radio chatter indicating a couple of tuna longliners were working our part of the coastline and it was reported that they had full strings of both yellowfin and southern bluefin tuna in their ice rooms.
As hoped, the better water moved in closer to us this week so we might not have seen the last of the bluefin as yet - fingers crossed anyway.
There were plenty of sharks caught again over the weekend with mainly makos, blues and bronze whalers turning up in the many burley trails.
The snapper fishing again was excellent over the later part of last week and the weekend with the reports suggesting the fish have moved into 40-50m depth.
That made many guys very happy as they just could not find them in the much deeper drifts as they had before.
Plastics, jigs and bait all did the damage over the weekend but the better fish seemed to have a liking for the micro jigs dropped on the edges of the bait schools.
The flathead drifts again were exceptional with little to no activity from the jackets or couta, making it a lot more pleasant day out with fish averaging 55cm.
In amongst the flatties there were good numbers of big flounder as well as tasty gummy sharks.
Most reports suggested the better fish were anywhere from the 35 to 55 metres depths with the standout being wide off the Bulga huts up north of Stanwell Park.
Beaches have continued to fish well of late with some excellent bread and butter fishing on offer especially if you can tempt the beachworms out of the sand.
Bream, flathead and whiting were all in good numbers at various beaches in the Illawarra both north and south.
Plenty of reports on smaller school jew being caught of late but no reports of anything substantial.
But don't let that fool you as the exact details are only shared with a small few.
