The former Wollongong Wolves forward, who was released by the Central Coast Mariners last week, confirmed on Sunday that he had joined ISL club Kerala Blasters. Murray, who will depart the country on Wednesday, said it was a great opportunity to propel his career forward.
"I'm very much looking forward to it. It's something that I've wanted to do for a very long time and it's going to be a very good experience. I'm stoked to do something different," he said.
"This move can definitely open doors for me throughout all of Asia if I do well, and it's also an experience. I can say that I've done it in my life. It's an experience meeting new people, new teammates and learn as much as I can from foreign players as well."
Someone that Murray is keen to learn from is former Wellington Phoenix striker Gary Hooper, who joined the Blasters earlier this month.
The upcoming ISL season, which begins in mid-November, will boast numerous ex A-League talent including Adam Le Fondre (Sydney FC) and Jacob Tratt (Perth).
"The league is definitely getting stronger and it's a quite entertaining league," 25-year-old Murray said.
"And the fans are incredible. For example, the average Kerala crowd attendance is about 55,000 fans: it's phenomenal.
"I'm very much looking forward to hopefully playing in front of a very large crowd and doing the club proud, and to learn as much as I can as a footballer and take that into hopefully many more years into a career."
