The plan looks at a range of measures large and small to help plan for the region's future.
One of those smaller ones is to make the entrances into the Wollongong CBD more appealing.
"Arrival into metro Wollongong can be confusing and underwhelming," the draft plan stated.
"A revitalised street-level train station entry and exit onto Crown Street and at Lowden Square could welcome people to Wollongong and catalyse urban renewal."
But that wasn't the only problem with the city CBD.
The west Crown Street and Keira Street corridor was identified as "not a place for visitors or locals to relax and dwell".
"The arrival experience for visitors could be enhanced and could help to create a safe people-oriented walking environment," the plan stated.
