Police Rescue was called to a cliff walk and fire trail near the old Princes Hwy at Maddens Plains late Wednesday afternoon after people zip-lining in the area saw what they thought was a hang glider dangling from trees at the top of the Illawarra Escarpment near Sublime Point.

A search of the area was conducted by NSW and other emergency personnel just before 5pm when it was soon determined that what looked like a hang glider from a distance was in fact material caught in a tree.
Police units and other emergency personnel were called off the rescue after 5.30pm.
