The recent stretch of wet weather in the Illawarra hasn't put paid to plans to finish the Albion Park Rail bypass ahead of schedule.
In November last year, Kiama MP Gareth Ward said the long run of good weather during construction of the bypass meant it was a year ahead of schedule.

Mr Ward said motorists would be driving on it around the middle of this year.
But with sometimes heavy rain over the last two months, it could have pushed back the opening date.
However, a Transport for NSW spokeswoman said that was not the case.
"Recent weather has not impacted work on the bypass as the site was closed between Monday, December 21, and Monday, January 4, for the Christmas break," the spokeswoman said.
