From up to 100 shows a year the performer was forced to take his craft online with Zoom events, but admits magic is better live.
"After being off for over a year, I'm nervous but so excited," he said.
"I didn't realise the fitness involved in it, I was carrying a bit of COVID-weight and discovered the show is very demanding, and mentally demanding."
Cosentino (who is Melbourne-based) said he didn't realise how "tour fit" he had become so has been incorporating extra gym sessions to not to disappoint with his show which mixes dance with illusions and "death-defying escapes".
After struggling with reading and writing in childhood, it was magic books which finally helped him learn to read. When he hit 14 and won a national competition - beating artists "twice his age" - Cosentino said he knew where his life was destined to go.
Cosentino brings his 'Deception' show to Anita's on Saturday February 13 and Sunday February 14. For tickets, visit: www.ticketmaster.com.au
