The former Sydney FC striker joined the Phoenix on Wednesday and is expected to line up in Sunday's game against the Western Sydney Wanderers in Wollongong.
Lokoli-Ngoy will be a welcome addition in attack, with Tomer Hemed (hamstring injury), Jaushua Sotirio (knee injury) and David Ball (suspended) unavailable. The side has struggled to find the back of the net, scoring just six goals in their opening six games this A-League season.
But Davila looks forward to seeing what Lokoli-Ngoy, 23, can achieve in the black and yellow.
"He's a strong and fast player so he will bring something different for us. It will be good to have him here in the team," Davila said.
"Hopefully we'll be able to bring out the best of him in the team. It will be nice to have some difference in the team, and I hope we can get the best out of everyone."
