Jennings claimed a hat-trick, including two in the space of minutes in the second half to guide his side to a crucial victory. It was the striker's best performance since joining from Blacktown last December.
"The character and attitude was great, it definitely wasn't our performance. But three great goals from Leroy and it's three points in the bag," Wolves coach Luke Wilkshire said.
"Leroy's a fantastic guy, he's a professional. Obviously coming to a new club, he's got that (type of performance) in his locker. It was a great performance from him today."
The Wolves twice had to fight back from a goal down to prevail on Sunday. It was their fourth win of the NSW Men's NPL season and their second on the trot.
"That's the end of the first round and we've put two wins back to back which we hadn't done all season, which is positive," Wilkshire said.
"It's definitely something for us to build on going into the second half of the season."
Both teams looked keen to control possession early. It was dour football in the opening 15 minutes - but that didn't last long, as the game quickly opened up.
The Sharks scored the first goal in the 23rd minute, when former Cringila Illawarra Premier League striker Peter Simonoski flicked the ball back to Chris Lindsay, whose low, powerful strike beat an outstretched Wolves goalkeeper Hayden Durose.
However, Sutherland's joy was short lived, with the hosts hitting back three minutes later. From a free kick, Leroy Jennings' beautiful, long-range curling shot found the back of the net to draw level at 1-1.
But the Sharks weren't disheartened, mustering their next goal before the half-hour mark, with a sliding Simonoski finishing off a great through ball from Green to give their side a 2-1 advantage.
After a slow start to the game, it was the third goal scored in just eight minutes.
Play continued to move from end to end for the rest of the half, but the score remained 2-1 at the break.
Both teams continued to play positively in the opening 15 minutes after half time, but there was no change to the score.
The Wolves had a golden opportunity to score in the 62nd when Lachlan Scott found himself one-on-one with goalkeeper Anthony Bouzanis. His shot ricocheted off Bouzanis towards Liam Willie, but his follow-up attempt was grasped by the Sharks gloveman.
On the counter-attack, Simonoski wound up for a shot outside the box, forcing Durose to make a save. From the corner, the ball towards Green, but he couldn't connect, and the score remained 2-1.
The Wolves continued to look assertive and were rewarded in the 72nd minute. Some nice passing from Marcus Beattie and Willie got Jennings into space, and his long-range shot fired into the back of the net.
Two minutes later, Jennings had his hat-trick, finishing off a nice one-two with Scott to give the Wolves a 3-2 advantage.
But the Sharks refused to give in, with Simonoski coming within centimetres of scoring after his attempt skimmed over the cross bar. Chris McStay and Brendan Hooper also had good chances to score.
In the dying minutes, the Sharks put a dangerous ball into the box, but Jonathan Grozdanovski also couldn't find the back of the net.
It was their last chance of the day, as the Wolves held on for victory.
