The 2021 Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour is a three-hour celebration of the mountain and adventure sport world at University Hall at UOW.
Sharing exhilarating short films from explorers, runners, mountain bikers, skiers, paddlers and climbers from around the globe.
The tour is hot on the heels of the largest and most prestigious mountain festivals in the world, the Banff Mountain Festival, which takes place every November in the mountain town of Banff, in Canada.
Free Music Jazz Night
A celebration of The Wollongong Conservatorium of Music's famed Jazz Program comes to the University of Wollongong UniBar on Thursday from 6pm tp 9pm.
All of the Con's jazz ensembles and combos will be featured led by the flagship Wollongong Con Jazz Orchestra. This fabulous night of free live music is a chance to see some of the best and brightest young improvisers in the Illawarra region do their thing!
Rock Photography Exhibition
Photographer Wendy McDougall releases 'It's only rock'n'roll but I like it ...' a book of her music photography over a 40-year period from 1979 to 2019.
A free exhibition with a selection of images can be seen at Wollongong Library until June 24).
An author Q & A with Wendy will be held on on June 4 inside The Lab at the library.

Shannon Noll Live
Australia's favourite son, Shannon Noll is hitting the road and performing all of his hits and more "Raw & Uncovered" at Wollongong's Centro CBD - it's dinner and a show.

Surf Film Debut Screening
Slick bodyboarder and local musician James Kates has teamed up with other creatives Chris Frape and Joshua white for a free move screening and jam night in Bellambi.
The B Sides and Rarities event will be on from 4pm to 8pm this Friday, at 16 Bellambi Lane.
A selection of photo's will be on exhibition and a new film by James Kates will screen - including an improvised live score by The M1 + Spunk vs Jeb-pop Dj's.
Refreshments provided.
SATURDAY MAY 29
ALCHEMICAL WORLDS opening
To be officially opened by Mr Robyn Williams on Saturday May 29 at 6.30pm

Local artists Agnieszka Golda, Martin Johnson and Jo Law bring us in close proximity to bio-archivists of climate change: corals and trees through philosophies of alchemy and materials transformation.
The works in this exhibition entangle textile art with creative technologies, and contemporary art with climate and materials sciences to offer a space for mindful and ecological awareness.
NSW Waratahs vs Crusaders

A community sausage sizzle will be held on World MS Day (May 30) in Figtree - at Rest Cafe.
All money raised goes to MS and helps Renee Criddle and her sister-in-law meet their fundraising goal for a 50km charity trek of Cradle Mountain they're doing in November.

Botanic Gardens Day
From 10am to 4pm the Wollongong Botanic Garden celebrates the power of plants with special guests Costa Georgiadis and Clarence Slockee (from ABC Gardening Australia), along with John Gabriele from the ABC's Compost Heap radio show.
Behind-the-scenes tours, walking trails, exhibitions, and garden demonstrations (composting, seeds to shoots, bush tucker). For the kids they'll have a show and scavenger hunt. All FREE!
