The Shellharbour talent started the tournament in impressive fashion, teaming up with China's Saisai Zheng to defeat American duo Venus Williams and Coco Gauff 6-7, 6-4, 6-3 in the opening round.
That was where the competition would come to an end, however, with Zheng injuring herself in a second-round singles loss.
The pair withdrew from the tournament as a result, an abrupt halt to what Perez had hoped would be a deep run for the 13th seeds.
"It's a bummer because we were playing some great tennis and I was really excited to have a good crack this week," Perez wrote on Facebook.
The 25-year-old has now travelled to England to begin her grass-court season, Wimbledon just three weeks away.
Perez was eliminated in the first round of singles qualifying at the Nottingham WTA event, falling to India's Ankita Raina in straight sets 7-6, 6-4.
She also hopes to contest the doubles at the tournament, however the draw is yet to be conducted.
