Dana wants to be a make-up artist. One of her fellow clients from The Disability Trust is an aspiring model.
Their so-called 'alter-egos' feature in a new interactive community mural in MacCabe Park.
The Wollongong mural was created by 19 local school leavers aged between 18 and 23, who are living with a disability.
But artist Jill Talbot, who was employed by Wollongong City Council to work with the young creatives on the mural design, said importantly the 'We are Us' mural celebrated the young adults strengths not disabilities.
"I think it is wonderful that council has channelled funding to this project because this group of marganalised people is often overlooked," Ms Talbot said.
"It is important for them to have their voices seen in this visual format, because visual art is a very powerful language.
"I felt that they represented their strengths when I worked with them so we chose to highlight their so-called alter-egos in the mural.
"We have an aspiring model, a make-up artist, a rock star, a young man who works in horticulture is sitting on a throne of potatoes, there's Mickey Mouse and we also have Aron up in the clouds throwing dungeons and dragons dice onto the Sea Cliff Bridge."
The completed mural is on the western side of Pioneer Hall in MacCabe Park. Interviews with the group members can be heard by scanning a QR code near the mural.
"Projects like these are important to amplify the voices of all the members of our community," Wollongong Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery said.
"The mural reflects the diverse experiences of the many young people who live with disability everyday. The creation of the mural in the heart of Wollongong's CBD gives these young people a voice.
"'The works diverse themes reflect the unique personalities and interests of the participants and reflect that disability is not a universal experience."
