The 16-year-old Dharawal singer/songwriter, real name Aidan Whitehall has enjoyed a strong start to 2021, with his track I'm Closed premiered on Triple J's Good Nights.
The teenager recently issued the single Daily Meditation in the lead-up to the release of his debut EP, Flies In My Room.
The track was recorded with Ryan Miller (Angus and Julia Stone, Peking Duk, Thelma Plum) at Hercules St Studios in Sydney.
"Making the track was a bit of a different experience compared to the other tracks on the EP," Whitehall said.
"I wanted to have female harmonies throughout the entire song, so I asked a good friend of mine if she'd be up for it.
"It was the first time creating a duet-ish track like that and it was a lot of fun."
Flies In My Room will be released on July 16.
Releasing his first self-produced singles in 2019, Whitehall won Triple J's Unearthed High Indigenous Initiative with When Your Eyes Speak.
His early single releases caught the attention of Communion Publishing UK, which saw him signing a deal whereby he joined a roster that includes Bears Den and Catfish & The Bottlemen.
His 2019 single Butterflies has already clocked up well over one million streams on Spotify.
