Shellharbour's Joel King, who has started in both games, is set to be joined by Mount Warrigal-born Kye Rowles as coach Graham Arnold calls in the troops to cover for suspended players Riley McGree, Mitch Duke and Nathaniel Atkinson. The trio received their second yellow card of the Games during Monday night's 1-0 loss to Spain and will miss their final Group C match, with the Aussies needing a win or draw to keep their Olympic dream alive.
The Olyroos opened their account with a shock 2-0 victory over Argentina last Thursday.
"Ok, three players are suspended, but they will be ready for the quarter-finals," Arnold said in Sunday's post-match press conference.
"We've got depth and fresh players ready to go. We've shown in the past we can play different systems, different players and we've got plenty of depth so you can't look at the negatives, I look at the positives.
"We're sitting here today with qualification in our own hands so it's all up to us. We're not relying on someone else having to beat someone else. I'm extremely proud of the boys... we'll keep smiling and enjoying this experience."
