The Albion Park talent has scored five goals in the Kookaburras' opening three wins at the Games. His mum Jenny had planned to join at his second Olympics, however, she was no longer allowed to attend under the organisers' no spectator ruling.
Instead, Jenny came up with an innovative way to show her support. Nearly 8000 kilometres away from Japan's capital city, she decorated her Tullabar house in green and gold - equipped with an Aussie flag, an inflatable kangaroo and a few extra special touches.
"Because we couldn't go to Tokyo, I thought 'what am I going to do?' So then I started decorating a little bit more, I added a bit more and kept on adding," Jenny said.
"I was able to get some (cardboard) cut-outs made up of Blake by a guy down in Albion Park Rail, they look really good. And then my sister said 'you need the Olympic rings too', which I hadn't really thought of that. So I got those made up as well. It looks awesome."
Tokyo was set to be Jenny's third Games experience. She was there when older son Kieran earned a bronze medal in London in 2012, and supported Blake in Rio de Janeiro four years later when the Kookaburras reached the quarter-finals.
"I had actually booked my airfare to go Tokyo, but I didn't have any accommodation sorted. Usually getting an airfare to any of these countries with the Olympics is hard," she said.
"But everyone is in the same boat with these Games, so what can you do?"
The Kookaburras opened their account with a 5-3 win over Japan on Saturday, with Blake scoring a crucial third-quarter goal. The next day, Blake and Wollongong's Flynn Ogilvie combined for three goals as Australia thrashed India 7-1.
The Aussies trailed 1-0 on Tuesday against Argentina, before Govers' goal late in the first quarter proved the game's turning point. The 25-year-old finished with a double as the world number one recorded a 5-2 victory over the defending Olympic champions.
"You just didn't know how they would go against Argentina, but they played really, really well," Jenny said.
"Blake's now got five (goals) for the tournament. I spoke to him today and said 'you played well' and he replied 'yeah, I was ok'. I thought 'oh my gosh' but obviously he's all fired up. I think he's enjoying it over there, he wants to finish better than he did in Rio."
The Kookaburras will next play New Zealand on Wednesday before facing Spain in their last group A game on Thursday. The knockout stage then gets under way on August 1.
"They're a very young side. I think Blake is on 105 or something games and the next one down is on 50 something. But they're all very hungry, I know Blake is hungry," Jenny said.
"It would be great to see them up on the podium. I don't think Blake would be disappointed if they missed out on gold, though winning the gold would be nice."
