About 11.20pm on Friday July 30 officers attached to Nowra Traffic and Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle on the Princes Highway, Berry, for an unrelated matter.
As they spoke with the driver of the vehicle, police allege a Ford Ranger, which was travelling south, collided with the side of their police car - a marked highway patrol vehicle which had its warning lights activated.
Both officers were uninjured.
Officers spoke with the driver of the Ford, a 24-year-old man, before subjecting him to a roadside breath test which returned a positive result.
The man was arrested and taken to Nowra Police Station, where he underwent a secondary breath analysis and allegedly returned a reading of 0.158.
He was issued a Court Attendance Notice for the offences of high-range PCA and fail to stop and exchange particulars. His licence was suspended.
The Meroo Meadow man is due to appear at Nowra Local Court Monday August 23 2021.
