With NSW greyhound racing operating on strict zone protocols, a National Sprint heat was conducted at Bathurst on Monday in which Zulu Warlord defied Jungle Deuce by a head in a slick 29.72.
While the result was tight, wagering was stymied by the pair but it's a more open situation at Dapto on Thursday.
The eight sprinters drawn at Dapto have won a remarkable 173 races from 461 starts - (at 37.5 per cent) and $817744 with Ebby Infrared leading the way in wins (41), starts (99) and prize money ($183,399).
When last at Dapto on June 7, Ebby Infrared secured the Dapto Silver Collar in a sharp 29.66 and has won six of 10 subsequent starts, including a career best 26.97 over 472m at Bulli.
He, however, may need to go to another level to snare this feature which secures the winner a prize semi-final place in the TAB Million Dollar Chase early next year.
Good Odds Cash (box three) is unbeaten in four Dapto outings and her PB is a sizzling 29.50.
She showed high speed to score at Richmond on August 7 in 30.34 and, at only 22 months of age, is one of the smartest juveniles in the land.
On The Rocks (box six) returned to her best with a 29.81 win at Dapto on August 5 and her early speed is not too dissimilar to that of Good Odds Cash.
And, with Fast And Furious (box seven), a rampant Zipping Kyrgios is sure to have strong support.
He was at his imperious best when a fast 30.31 winner from box four at Richmond on July 8 and his back-end strength is second to none.
The downside for Zipping Kyrgios is that he's never raced at Dapto but the blue dog has proven very adaptable having won at Dubbo, Wentworth Park, Maitland and Richmond in very quick times.
In the National Distance heat (Race six), Super Estrella steps beyonda middle distance for the first time.
She's had good grounding at Dapto (over 600m) and has won her past two at Bulli in 33.00 (just .01 outside the track record) and Richmond (618m) in brilliant fashion.
Over the past couple of months, Super Estrella and Sound Of Silencehave met four times over and it's 'advantage' Super Estrella (3-1) yetthe 729m at Dapto is the toughest of stamina in NSW and Sound OfSilence is a seasoned, in-form stayer.
The first race on a terrific 1-race card at Dapto is at 7.13pm.
