Here they were, unbeaten in 13 games, when COVID restrictions brought a grinding halt to the Illawarra Premier League, knowing it would be their last season in charge at the club.
But as the door closes, a window of opportunity has presented itself, with Guido taking on the head coaching role at NSW Women's National Premier League team next season.
"It's a pity, we knew it was our last season together and we wanted to go out on top," the former IPL golden boot winner said. "It's not the way you want to end it, but what can you do?
"I'm really looking forward to working with the Stingrays, it's an honour and a privilege to be coaching with them.
"We've got a core group of players already signed and we're in talks with four or five others, we just need to see what the season looks like."
The Stingrays were sixth after 12 games this year, six points off the lead, when the season was cancelled.
