Whirld follows the life, love, family and work of Tay who redirects her life after imploding personally and professionally.
The series has a distinct Illawarra flavour with footage of Icon Bar and the Mangerton Corner Store and the much of the cast and crew being from the region.
The Skin Correctives sponsorship comes after a Whirld Pozible crowdfunding campaign and Whirld Music Fundraiser were held in March, raising a total of $14,000.
The production has also attracted significant 'in kind' support which has helped to significantly offset productions costs.
The Whirld team also sought corporate and business funding to cover the remaining expenses and provide local businesses such as Skin Correctives with a unique marketing opportunity.
The team behind the new drama series includes Phillippa Webb who has a background in theatre Design and has worked in both film and television, including Farscape and Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones
Beth Champion who is an accomplished actor who started her career with the Powerhouse Youth Theatre and a few years later appeared on the big screen as country girl Emily in the Beatlemania feature film, Secrets.
And Karen Illesca who has worked as an actor, director and producer, predominantly in theatre.
The Illawarra Mercury news app is now officially live on both iOS and Android devices. It is available for download in the Apple Store and Google Play.
