Matthew Davis was found dead in his Thomas Street home by a friend on Monday, August 23, police say.
Police investigated, and, based on the information received from a post-mortem, are not satisfied Mr Davis died of natural causes.
Detective Chief Inspector Glen Broadhead said Mr Davis' had sustained significant injuries prior to his death.
The forensic pathologist has not yet been able to determine a cause of death.
"We have received information there was some type of disturbance or altercation at the address between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on the Saturday before Mr Davis was found," he said.
"We are appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard something, or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the street at that time, to come forward."
They are also seeking information from anyone who may have been in the street, or have footage of the street, on the Monday evening before Mr Davis was found.
The Saturday when the disturbance occurred was a warm one, and it is likely people were in the street at the time.
Detective Chief Inspector Broadhead encouraged any parents of children who may have been playing outside to ask them if they had seen or heard anything.
"We have officers who are trained to interview children, and help us with any information they may have," he said.
It is understood Mr Davis had a number of serious health conditions, however, police said the forensic pathologist is not satisfied they caused his death.
However, police also said it was too early to say Mr Davis' death was a homicide.
"We have concerns regarding the injuries Mr Davis sustained," Detective Chief Inspector Broadhead said.
He said Mr Davis was not previously known to police "for any adverse reason".
