Two men were airlifted to St George and Liverpool hospitals in critical condition after the boat they were in capsized.
The condition of both overnight has improved to serious but stable.
As has the 32-year-old man who was transported to Wollongong Hospital in critical condition. His condition is now serious but stable.
A 38-year-old man and 33-year-old man have recovered sufficiently to be released from Wollongong Hospital.
The sixth man, hero surfer Steven Davey who was part of a mass rescue operation, suffered fuel burns to most of his body, was not hospitalised and is recovering at home.
