There is a near 100 per cent chance of rain on Friday, and the possibility of a thunderstorm in the north of the region.
Most schools in the Illawarra are closed today, and the wet weather continues to affect public transport; however, most roads have reopened.

Road closures
- Lawrence Hargrave Drive, Coalcliff - reopened in both directions after a landslip, but stop/slow traffic control is in place between Clifton School Parade and Scarborough Public School
- Princes Highway at Bulli Pass, Bulli - reopened
- Swamp Road, Jamberoo/Dunmore - closed
- Macquarie Pass - closed

Train disruptions
Buses are replacing trains between Thirroul and Waterfall, and Wollongong and Albion Park.
School closures
All public schools across the Illawarra are closed on Friday as a result of the weather, as are Calderwood Christian School and Cedars Christian College.
St Joseph's Catholic High School and Good Samaritan Catholic Primary School are also closed, but all other Catholic schools in the region will open.
