The discount department store - which already has outlets at Shellharbour and Warrawong - will join Coles, Liquorland and JB Hi-Fi, along with more than 80 unknown specialty shops when the $200 million Wollongong Central expansion opens.
Target’s general manager of store development Rob McCartney said his company would employ about 80 people in various roles in the new 3000 square metre store.
‘‘Target Wollongong Central will deliver stylish, quality products at great prices for customers,’’ Mr McCartney said.
‘‘The new store will feature all the very latest Target products, concepts and services to provide an easy and exciting shopping experience.’’
GPT development manager Steven Turner said he was confident Target would be a success with shoppers as well as providing a significant boost to the local economy.
