The library's opening hours are being reviewed after feedback to the Libraries and Museum Strategy 2024 identified them as too restrictive.
Currently the library is open 34 hours each week and is closed on Friday and Sunday, with 10am open times for each day except Saturday, when it opens 9am and closes midday.
Three scenarios are offered for new hours of operation, including earlier opening and closing times for most days except Thursdays, and opening on Fridays.
The total number of hours each week will remain the same.
The council said the proposed changes can be achieved with the same budget and staff resourcing.
The survey is available on the council's website and can be accessed from the area's libraries until August 31.
