If we can get some key results over the next three weeks, we could find ourselves at the top of the competition.
After our slow start to the year, it would be a fantastic result.
It starts with the Central Coast this weekend before dates against the only two clubs above us on the ladder, Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory.
We will have to be careful on our visit to the Coast.
They are still looking to kick start their season with just five competition points on the board.
Meanwhile, we’ve secured four wins on the bounce and the squad is bursting with confidence.
But we can’t be complacent.
The Mariners are a great young squad.
They are enthusiastic and have started the season playing with no fear.
Despite only winning once so far, they’ve managed to find the net in every match they have played.
It’s a testament to their ability to attack and press teams, which makes them difficult to play against.
We’ll be ready for the challenge.
Again, I hope to play my part in same form this Sunday.
Coming back from injury, it is always going to be difficult to break into a winning team.
That’s why I’ll keep trying to play my role as best I can.
I was able to make a difference off the bench in last weekend’s win over Wellington with an assist and did the same against the Jets a week earlier.
To me, it is important to keep taking those opportunities to make an impact and continue pushing for a spot back in the Wanderers’ starting line-up.
Crowd talk misguided
Talk of continued poor crowd behaviour is being blown out of proportion by people with their own motives outside of football. With the game continuing to flourish in this country, it seems there is always going to be people who want to bring it down.
It comes to the surface when issues like crowd behaviour are raised.
Obviously, the football community accepts there has been incidents which have no place in our stadiums during the past few years.
But it is a unanimous agreement that these actions are not welcome at our games at any time or place.
People know the consequences facing them for partaking in that sort of behaviour and there are some simple rules in place.
When broken the FFA has taken action against the offending parties and handed out bans.
Those bans should be wear it stops so for the names of those people to be exposed to the world is not acceptable.
