The open men’s crew will then contest the Australian Surf Life Saving selection trials on Sunday at the same venue, looking to represent the nation in a trans-Tasman series to be held later in the year.
The crew gained selection last season as the Australian Open representatives and travelled to New Zealand, where they won the series 3-0. The U23 will have a chance to also represent Australia as a national development crew when they contest selection trials in late January at the Manly carnival.
“Both crews came off a very successful 2014-2015 season with the open men NSW Champions and a close second at Aussies, while the U23s came 6th at Aussies,” Bulli president Keith Caldwell said.
