The giant cruise liner Voyager of the Seas arrived in Wollongong on Tuesday docking just before 8am at the AAT terminal at Port Kembla Harbour.
Many of the 4200 passengers and 1200 crew found good vantage points on the cruise ship as hundreds gathered at the Outer Harbour as well as other locations along the Wollongong foreshore.
Voyager is the second Royal Caribbean cruise liner to visit this city and many passengers have begun hopping on shuttle buses and heading into the city while others are heading of on pre-booked day tours.
Destination Wollongong’s Mark Sleigh said 200 volunteer ambassadors are making the passengers and crew feel welcome in the city with Premier shuttle buses doing drop offs at the Arts Precinct.
The second visit of a cruise ship to Wollongong is considered just as important as the first as it will prove the city is cruise ready to welcome many more mega-liners in the rapidly growing sector of the tourism industry.
Voyager of the Seas will depart Wollongong for Sydney at 5pm on Tuesday.
