Police are treating the death of a man as suspicious after his body was found at a popular lookout on Sunday.
Emergency services were called to Cape Solander Lookout in Kurnell just after 1pm after a body was seen on rocks.
PolAir was called in to assist with the retrieval operation. It's believed the body is of a 41-year-old man from Brighton-Le-Sands.
Police say the victim suffered a number of injuries, but are yet to determine a cause of death.
A post mortem will be carried out to determine how the man died.
Officers returned to the scene on Monday, conducting a line search to piece together what happened.
Police are appealing for any witnesses in the Kurnell area at the weekend who may have seen the victim to come forward.
He is described as having an olive complexion, unshaven, with black hair and wearing a blue jacket with a black hoodie underneath, blue pants and black shoes.
They are also looking to speak to anyone who saw a red Hyundai i20 at the time.
Anyone with information, is urged to contact Miranda Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
