Disability Trust Sports Ready teacher Megan Barnes said it was a chance for primary schools with children with disabilities involved in the program to come together and practice, show off their skills.and make knew friends.
“It is a social event and we make it fun,” Ms Barnes said.
Sports Ready programs are run with the help of The Disability Trust in throughout the Illawarra as well in Campbelltown and Miranda.
Children with disabilities come to Wollongong from all three ares for the annual Sport Ready day at Beaton Park. The Disability Trust has worked in partnership with BlueScope for over a decade.
“Because of their generous donations each year we get to put on days like this and go out to schools and run programs such as this,” Ms Barnes.
