But disappointing for Illawarra's third Kookaburra Tristan White who missed out on his second Commonwealth Games.
For Ogilvie it was a nice reward for a tough year last year. He returned to the Azlan Shah Cup in Malaysia this month after tearing his hamstring in the same tournament last year and had to sit out the full year on a recovery process.
“Because of the timing of my return, getting back to full training wasn't too much of a shock. I was cleared for full training when the team went to the World league last December so that gave me a month to just focus on getting fit for the Dutch series in Perth and back to international hockey,” Ogilvie said.
Ogilvie was then named in the Azlan Shah Cup which the Kookaburras won beating England 2–1 in the final a week ago. Blake Govers scored the opening goal. The Kookaburras will face South Africa, Scotland, Canada and New Zealand in their pool at the Gold Coast Games.
Gerringong's Grace Stewart was named in the Hockeyroos team for the Games and will face rivals New Zealand, Scotland, Canada and Ghana in their pool.
