But McDonald’s Australia surprised them this month by naming them the winner of its newest national award.
The prominent business couple were attending a McDonald’s conference overseas when it was announced they were the inaugural winners of the Way Forward Award.
“It recognises licencees for system contribution and living McDonald’s Way Forward 20/20 Beliefs. As well as excelling in areas such as being bold, customer focused, caring for the community and authentic,” Mrs Dwarte said.
The presentation was made in front of 1200 people at an annual Systems Meeting last week where stores around the nation came together to talk about the McDonald’s vision and way forward. The award comes after the Dwarte family took over the running of their fourth store in the Illawarra.
As well as wedding at the new-look totally redeveloped Warilla restaurant.
And is recognition of a long term consistent commitment to the brand and all the values of McDonald’s in Australia.
“We initiated a lot of things like the wedding and table service,” Mr Dwarte said.
“And the Illawarra was part of the trial market for McCafe drive-thru and the all day breakfast”.
The award also follows McDonald’s Warrawong raising more than $17,000 on McHappy Day and Warilla around $15,000 once again ranking them among the top few stores in Australia.
