The incident occurred at Lady Wakehurst Drive, Otford about 10.04am.
NSW Ambulance Illawarra district Inspector Terry Morrow said a 42-year-old male motorcyclist “had a front impact with a car at 50km/hr and was thrown approximately five metres through the air”.
Inspector Morrow said the motorcyclist had no loss of consciousness, but had sustained a fractured right femur, as well as a fracture of his right knee and partial dislocation, and a potential fractured pelvis.
The man was due to be transported by ambulance helicopter to St George Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Inspector Morrow said the driver of the car wasn’t injured.
