Nathan James Dawson, 39, had been reunited with his girlfriend Kellie Maree June Lawrence, 37, for just seven days when the pair allegedly carried out home invasions on neighbouring units on Myuna Way on Sunday afternoon.
Court documents reveal Dawson and Lawrence arrived at unit block about 4.30pm and went to the second storey balcony, at which time Lawrence was heard yelling "one of these from theses three units punched me in the chest" while pointing at three neighbouring flats.
It is alleged Dawson went to one unit and began punching at the door. However Lawrence saw the resident inside - through a closed screen door - and confirmed it "wasn't him".
Dawson then allegedly moved onto the second unit and kicked at the timber door until it was forced open.
Dawson was met by the home owner and the pair engaged in a brief struggle before the victim fell to the ground.
It is alleged Dawson grabbed the man's beard and pulled it "aggressively" before Lawrence again confirmed they had the wrong man.
Police allege Dawson arrived at the third door to be told by the resident he had contacted police and they were on their way.
Dawson allegedly forced his way inside the home and told the occupant "if you don't call them back and tell them to forget it I will come back with some of my mob and beat the crap out of you".
The victim told police he felt scared and threatened by Dawson's words.
Meanwhile, Lawrence allegedly said let's get out of here before the cops arrive" and the pair fled.
Officers arrived to see Dawson and Lawrence walking away from the location but were unaware of the allegations against the pair.
They were arrested about an hour later after officers had spoken to the alleged victims who gave a description matching Dawson and Lawrence.
They were charged with two counts each of aggravated break and enter, while Lawrence was charged with assaulting police amid allegations she headbutted a female officer during her arrest.
Both Dawson and Lawrence sought bail in Wollongong Local Court on Monday however neither application was successful.
Magistrate Susan McGowan noted the pair both had lengthy criminal histories and presented an unacceptable risk to community safety if released.
Both cases were adjourned to May 15 for further mention.
