The Bulli father and son have entered the competition which is giving readers a shot at designing the logo for the 2022 UCI Road World Cycling Championships in Wollongong.
"Emmanuel's teacher has been quite enthusiastic about it at school and they've been working on it in class," Mike said.
"But he wanted to do a private submission as well, was keen for me to get involved and it gave me a chance to pull out the old drawing board - literally."
Mike's design incorporates Wollongong's iconic lighthouse and Emmanuel used the 'W' of Wollongong, turning it into a road.
"(Emmanuel) has been quite excited about the idea of an international event like this coming to Wollongong," Mike said.
The Take Wollongong to the World Logo Competition is a partnership between the Mercury, Cycling Australia and Destination Wollongong. A unique VIP package, valued at $20,000, to the week of events at the world titles in 2022 is on offer in the competition.
Entries for the competition close on June 28 and you can enter HERE.
