The Markwell-trained I Am Magnificent will contest the 1000 metre class three handicap, owner-breeder Williams in chase of the $50,000 bonus payment under Racing NSW's upgraded BOBS scheme.
I Am Magnificent has struggled this campaign, the seven-year-old placing 12th, 9th and 10th in his last three runs, two of which were at Randwick Racecourse.
However, with Tamworth marking a significant drop off in class from the city, Markwell is confident of the gelding's chances of taking out the race.
The quest for the Gold BOBS bonus comes a couple of weeks after Williams' Gemmahra claimed the first race of the new scheme in Musswellbrook.
Williams and Markwell are also targeting the first Platinum BOBS race to be run at Kembla Grange, a 1500m class two handicap that features a $100,000 bonus.
